Mac voice keyboard that dictates into any app and rewrites speech to fit the app and conversation, using on-screen context.
TalkTastic starts dictation with a tap-to-talk shortcut in whichever text field has focus and transcribes with on-device Whisper. Smart Rewrites then use a snapshot of the current app, sent to cloud AI models, to adjust tone and format. It runs on macOS only and was distributed as a direct download rather than through the Mac App Store. It launched on Product Hunt in July 2024 and finished third for the day, and it was free during beta with a paid plan planned. It is made by Matt Mireles.
