Speech recognition and AI software maker, best known for the Dragon dictation line and clinical documentation tools, now part of Microsoft.
Nuance develops speech recognition, natural language understanding and interactive voice response software, with a current focus on healthcare tools for physicians and radiologists and Dragon speech recognition for productivity. Its technology supported Apple’s Siri in the early 2010s, and its automotive division was spun off as Cerence in 2019. Microsoft announced the acquisition in April 2021 and completed it on March 4, 2022. Nuance’s website now states that “Nuance is now Microsoft” and redirects to a Dragon page, which lists no pricing.
